As I have already mentioned in my previous post, about going home for Diwali (the festival of lights as its aptly called) and 2 homes this time making it double fun. Its a month long stay in India!! so it got to be fun and nothing else, apart from me putting on few more kilos of weight. ;) I am not sure whether I would gather anytime to blog in the middle of all the enjoyment & fun with family, friends and food not to forget. But I wish to bring back lots of memories and experiences with pics to share. Till then wishing you all a super Diwali filled with love, happiness, lots of family time and obviously prosperity - thats what the festival is all about, remember Goddess Lakshmi! :)
These are some pictures from last years diwali at my home in Dubai.

September 8, 2011 :)
My blog completes 1 month. Happy 1 month to Squeaky corner & the new blogger in me!

Happy listing!
Do you guys love making lists? I don't know whats with it but I feel happy when I discover I have so much to do and then every time I tick something off the list it gives me a sense of achievement! (I know you would think whats the big deal) But yeah, little things make me happy! Anyways I already have 4 lists happening right now, I am going home (India) for Diwali....yeaaaaa!! every year I do, but this time its different and more eventful. First diwali with my in-laws in Bangalore and then head to Ahmedabad, my home. So yes, below is a list of lists!!
1) What to buy for India
2) What to buy from India before coming back
3) Packing list
4) The everyday Grocery list
4) The everyday Grocery list
and the way I am being forgetful these days I can have one more
5) Everyday chores! ;)
And you call it coincidence or telepathy, while I was going to post this I found a similar post on my dashboard by Kate on Design Sponge blog. Atleast, there's somebody who shares the same sentiments towards listing. And, aren't these simply cute and handy, if I get these there would be endless lists! These letterpress notebooks from Paper Lovely by Kim are just too tempting.

From the Dusty Corner (part 2)
Can't call it a poem but some thoughts penned down years back. Part 1 is here.

Blooming pinks
Some Pink Bouganvillas from my balcony :)
What specially made me click them was, a bunch on one side of stem and not even a leaf on the other side. A contrast, but isn't this the case with everything around us!

5 things I learnt this weekend
1) Catching up with friends on a cup of tea is better than going for a movie with friends
2) Listened to some famous English songs & Opera singers whom I had never heard off (I am more of a bollywood person)
3) Here comes the big one! The act of forgiving. When you forgive someone you are not doing a favor to them, but you are doing a favor to yourself by letting it go and not constantly thinking about it. (Thats deep and not easy!)
4) Its never too late to cook a healthy dinner for husband who comes home after a long tiring day of work, that too on a weekend! :)
5) AND whenever free, watch TED videos. Always inspiring. I just did.

After effects of blogging
Its not even a month since I started blogging to be a part of this online community called Blogosphere! And I am already experiencing its after effects! Some good some bad.....
Positive
- Many like minded people around in this sphere
- Lots to read, learn and get inspired
- Fellow bloggers & friends generous enough to appreciate & encourage the effort
- A mind free from useless thoughts
- The urge to do or write something new every time
- I Talk less and squeak (blog) more! :)
Negative
- Lost & preoccupied mind with what to blog next
- Forgetful about other daily chores
- Forgetful about other daily chores
- More reasons for an already internet freak person to sit in front of the laptop
This would be a challenge for me (Probably, then I will have more to share! :)
- Get away from the laptop (Set specific hours for a day) this is difficult! :-/
- Read often, and I mean books and not online
- Click more pictures
- Finish the daily chores and not postpone them
- Make lists & tick it off
- Practice drawing (oops!, remember my classes)
